If you're great at working the angles, firing unthreatened from the second line and other sneaky tactics, the Molotov is great. People here are comparing it to the Pensicola, but honestly, the 'Cola is significantly more survivable. Simply put, the Soviet 180mm guns are much more effective. Molotov is great, but also one of the most punishing ships in the game. While Ochakov shares the ballistic performance of Chapayev and Mikhail Kutuzov, these both pale behind the railguns of the 180mm armed ships. the Dallas and the Hellena play much like a Molotov but with better AA and general survivability, but it constantly irked me that they dont have torps, so aside from grinding to the next ship, i never chose to play these by choice because of that. The premiums are no slouches either with Pyotr Bagration reaching out to 18.5km and Kutuzov has a frightening 19.1km. It was a big job getting the Cleveland, the American cruiser line was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful up to the Dallas, but then the Dallas and the Hellena were decent ships, so that later grind was far more enjoyable. The only dissadvantage i could see is that in my Shabayev, i can draw the fire of the enemy away from the Marines, but those Clevelands never seem to draw the enemy fire? Anyway, i never minded being the missions punching bag, it simply made it far easier to get five star every time. i took the hint it must be a good ship because so many people use it in that mission. It was an easy ship to unlock due to the tech tree shuffle, rapid firing guns, great flyswatters and DFAA, hydro for torp beats, Radar, and decent armor.
